Procedures for students to check out books
Students are allowed to check out books providing his or her account is cleared by returning books. A student may keep a book for two weeks before it is labeled as "late". A simple renewal of the book will allow the student to keep the book longer. However, if the book is 30 days late, a restriction will be placed on the student's account and he or she will not be allowed to check out any more books until the late book is returned or paid for. This restriction remains on the student's account throughout their school years in Escambia County. The student will not receive his or her diploma if the student's account is not free and clear of all fines.
Kindergarden and 1st Grade students receive a plastic bag with their bar code on it. This acts as a library card. The bag is for the protection of library books. The student should keep all library books in the bag when the books are not being read. These bags are the property of Beulah Elementary Library and should not be used for anything other than library books. Due to the age of the students in these grades, bags can be replaced free of charge up to three (3) replacements. A fourth (4th) replacement will constitute a $1.00 charge and each replacement thereafter.
School library cards for second thru fifth (2nd-5th) grades receive one free library card. Replacements for lost or damaged cards are $1.00 each.
Late notices are frequently sent to those students with late books. Students with books over 30 days late will be sent home with a note to the parents. Please watch for these notices.
