    NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION AND FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL INFO:

    This is Mr. Sherrill, Principal of Northview High School. We will have an Incoming 9th Grade and New Student Orientation on Thursday, August 7th, from 1:30-2:30 PM in our Theater. This orientation is available for all new students which includes incoming 9th graders. The orientation is not mandatory for new students or parents, but it is available for those who wish to attend. Class schedules will be given out, and students can see the location of their classes. Returning 10th, 11th, and 12th graders will be able to access their schedules in FOCUS on August 8th, and we look forward to seeing these students on the first day of school on August 11th. Students may enter the building at 8:20 AM. The bell to go to 1st period will ring at 8:40 AM with classes starting at 8:45 AM. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all students every day for free. I look forward to seeing all of you very soon!! I will also post this callout on our Northview web page and Facebook page.     Congratulations to Ms. Obreonne Parker for being named as Northview's TEACHER OF THE YEAR! Ms. Parker has been at Northview for twenty-one years. She teaches ESE and is the OJT coordinator for ESE students. She also is Northview's athletic director.
    Ms. Parker is loved by her students and colleagues. Her hard work and care are evident in the positive environment that she creates for her students. When asked to reflect on her teaching career, she said, "Stay positive, love the kids, and continue to work hard because it pays off."
