  • Parent Toolkit - All Kinds of Minds Kids do come with some instructions.

See the tools below to help your student find success at BTWHS.

  • Tool #5- Connect with different opportunities.

Being a Wildcat is not just a phrase, it is an opportunity to be a part of something exciting. There are many opportunities for student involvement at Booker T. Washington High School.

Career Academies provide a path to the future as well as opportunities to connect.

NJROTC - BTWHS has an active NJROTC Program that provides opportunities for personal and professional growth and learning.

Fine Arts provide opportunities for students to be involved, collaborate with other youth, and  find freedom in personal expression. This may be through Art, Chorus, Band, Orchestra, or Theatre.

Clubs and organizations are available to students for special interests, competitive opportunities, and service to our school and community.

Booker T. Washington High School Tardy Policy

    Tardy to School

Students who arrive on campus after the 8:30 a.m. bell are considered tardy to school.

Students who accrue three (3) or more unexcused tardies to school in a nine-week period will receive a minor disciplinary referral.  Each additional unexcused tardy to school will incur an additional disciplinary referral.  Consequences for each tardy are as follow:

    • Unexcused tardy #4 – After school detention.

    • Unexcused tardy #5 – After school detention.

    • Unexcused tardy #6 – Saturday work detail.

    • Unexcused tardy #7+ – One full day of In-School Solutions (ISS).

Tardy to Classes throughout the School Day

Students are expected to arrive at each class before the tardy bell rings.  Teachers will mark a student tardy in FOCUS.  A student who arrives tardy to class must present a district pass or check-in ticket to gain entry and will be marked tardy excused, “TE” or tardy unexcused, “TU”, in FOCUS.  A teacher may write a minor disciplinary referral when a student has arrived at class late without a pass and parental contact has been made.
