J.M. Tate High School's Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society recently completed two successful community service projects as described below.
The first, dubbed "Operation Aggies Care", collected donations for care packages for deployed alumni. Tate students, staff and faculty donated goods to fill 34 care packages to be shipped over the holidays. Students stated that their main goal was to "show appreciation for those serving our country and to remind them that we [students] haven't forgotten what they are sacrificing". --Amy, junior
The second community service project was the school's annual canned food collection for Manna Food Pantry. Tate students donated over 1300 cans totaling 1362 pounds. " I couldn't be prouder of these students or our school. Their over whelming response shows exactly the type of school we are."--Robin Blalock, Rho Kappa advisor
