Mr. Marsh retired from the United States Navy as a Lieutenant Commander after 22 years of total military service. He served 6 1/2 years enlisted in the USAF as a Computer Communications Systems Technician (Tech Controller) Staff Sergeant SSGT, USAF before transferring to the Navy to receive a commision and become a Mission Commander/Tactical Coordinator aboard the P-3C for 16 years. He had various assignments and deployments which included VP-45 in Jacksonville, Preflight Instructor at NAS Pensacola, FL, V-2 Division (Catapult and Arresting Gear) Officer aboard the USS Harry S. Truman in Norfolk, VA and the Assistant OIC/Instructor at the Center for Naval Leadership, Corry Station, Pensacola FL before transitioning to the civilian sector. He taught 6th grade Math and Science and was the Administrative Dean at Bellview Middle School for 6 years before becoming an Assistant Principal at Pensacola High School for 7 years. He later transferred to Ransom Middle School as an Assistant Principal for 4 years before being appointed Principal of Ransom Middle School, the largest middle school by population in Escambia County.

Mr. Marsh has a great understanding of the Military Family and Community! In 1990, he served as a newly commissioned Ensign and attended the flight program at NAS Pensacola after graduating from Aviation Officer Candidate School (Class 1690). In the picture below, he is standing with his good friend Darryl "D-Day" Walker (on the right) who is now an active duty Rear Admiral and President of the Naval War College. They were designated Naval Flight Officers - Marsh flew the P-3C Orion and Walker flew the EA-6B Prowler. Mr. Marsh says of his friend, "It's amazing and ironic that we both took different paths but ended up in education!"
