How to Submit Community Input for a Specific Title
If you are a resident of Escambia County and/or a parent of an ECPS student and are interested in participating on a book review committee, please contact your School Board representative to apply.
HB 1069: Books Pulled for Further Review - In response to HB 1069, which took effect July 1, 2023, media specialists are working through a good faith review of their individual collections to comply with the statute. If a media specialist determines that sexual conduct may be present, the title will go through an additional review process. Media specialists will meet to collaboratively review the title for age appropriateness and to either hold the title for further review through the community committee process or return the title to age appropriate school collections. Returned titles are noted in the “Books returned to ES+, MS+ or HS'' spreadsheet. These two lists are constantly changing due to the continuous work of the media specialists through this process.
Please see the Instructional Materials Adoption page for more information regarding the adoption of Instructional Materials, including committee meeting minutes and the Contest Adoption Form.
