    Building Construction Technology 1

Students are introduced to the foundations of construction through the HBI Core, with a strong emphasis on safety, tools, and basic building principles. They learn how to work safely in the lab setting while gaining an understanding of construction careers and essential terminology.

    Building Construction Technology 2

This course expands on safety and tool knowledge, introducing students to the HBI Electrical curriculum. Students gain experience with electrical safety, hand and power tools, and begin applying their knowledge in practical shop activities and small building projects.

    Building Construction Technology 3

Students continue with electrical training while deepening their understanding of construction materials and methods. Practical lab experiences allow them to wire basic circuits, work with electrical boxes and fittings, and begin exploring carpentry, plumbing, and HVAC concepts.

    Building Construction Technology 4

In this advanced course, students strengthen their technical skills across multiple trades including electrical, carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, and masonry. More time is spent in the lab, where students apply classroom knowledge to larger hands-on projects that simulate real-world construction environments.

    Building Construction Technology 5

The capstone course allows students to demonstrate mastery of safety, tools, and multiple trade areas through complex lab projects. Students may pursue individual creative builds, practice leadership in team projects, and prepare for industry certifications and entry-level employment opportunities in the skilled trades.
