Ms Tara Palasciano

 

Ms. Tara Palasciano was born and raised in Rochester, New York before settling in Pensacola, Florida with her daughter in 2001.   Ms. Palasciano attended The University of Georgia where she received her Bachelor’s of Arts in English.  She moved on to Brenau University, in Gainesville, Georgia,  where she received her Master’s Degree in Business Administration.  After moving to Pensacola, she attended the University of West Florida and achieved her Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership.

Ms. Palasciano has been an employee of the Escambia County School District since September of 2003.  She taught language arts/reading and was an Instructional Coach at Ferry Pass Middle School for ten years.  Ms. Palasciano then moved into the role of an Assistant Principal in 2014 and served her first year at Bailey Middle School.  From 2015-2021 she served as the Assistant principal at Bellview Middle.  In December of 2021 she was appointed the Interim Principal at Bellview Middle School and has now returned to Bailey Middle School as Principal.

Ms. Palasciano has earned several awards throughout her years with the school district.  She was named Teacher of the Year for Ferry Pass Middle School for the 2004-2005 school year.  In 2019, she was named Outstanding Assistant Principal of the Year for Escambia County.

Mrs. Burns

 

Please welcome our new Assistant Principal, Mrs. Burns! 

Mrs. Amy Burns was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana but calls Covington, Louisiana her home. She graduated from Covington High School and went on to attend LSU and Southeastern Louisiana University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education.
Ms. Burns taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grades in two schools in St. Tammany Parish. She returned to Southeastern Louisiana University in 2010 to obtain her Masters degree in Educational Leadership. Ms. Burns was appointed Parish wide Assistant Principal in 2012 and then became Assistant Principal at William Pitcher Junior High in 2013 where she remained until 2019. Ms. Burns completed her career at William Pitcher Junior High as Principal for the last three years.
After having relocated to Pensacola in 2019, Ms. Burns was prepared to enjoy life until the school year came calling. She returned to work in November 2019 as the Dean at Beulah Middle School. In 2021, she was appointed as Assistant Principal at Workman Middle School. She joined the Bailey staff in July 2025.
In her free time, Ms. Burns enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. She has two cats, Auti and Sunny. She is also “Mimi” to one grandson. And last but not least, Geaux Tigers!

Thomas

Juanda Thomas, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Thomas was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated from Tucker High School in Dekalb County. From there, she went to Georgia Southern University where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. Mrs. Thomas completed her schooling at the University of Phoenix and Georgia College & State University where she received a Master's degree in Curriculum and Technology and Education Leadership respectively.


As an educator, Mrs. Thomas started teaching 2nd grade in 1999. She went on to specialize in Exceptional Student Education in Georgia and Iowa before relocating to Pensacola, FL in the fall of 2012. Once in Pensacola, Mrs. Thomas served as the Bailey Middle Behavior Coach for 2 years before becoming an Administrator at Ferry Pass Middle School. Mrs. Thomas served as a Principal and Assistant Principal during her 7 years at Ferry Pass Middle. Mrs. Thomas went on to serve as Assistant Principal at Ransom and Beulah Middle before returning to Bailey Middle. 
 
Mrs. Thomas was previously known as Ms. White before taking on her married name last year. She is a mother of 2 boys (9 and 21 years old), and she is the wife of a DOD Firefighter (and enthusiastic Ravens football fan) who is a Pensacola implant from the great state of Virginia. Mrs. Thomas enjoys spending time with family and traveling. She is excited to return to Bailey Middle, and she is looking forward to another fantastic school year.
