  • Course Sequence

    Care and Prevention of Athletic Injury (Semester)

    This course covers basic human anatomy (bones, muscles, etc.), keys to preventing injuries, common athletic injuries, and how to tape various areas of the body (ankle, wrist, etc.).

    First Aid and Safety (Semester)

    This course covers the steps for handling first aid emergencies, CPR (adult, child, and infant), splinting, and dealing with fractures, and sudden illnesses.

    Health Science Anatomy and Physiology (Health Science 1)

    This course covers the different body systems and how they work on a daily basis, diseases associated with each system, and medical professionals that deal with each system.

    Health Science Foundations (Health Science 2)

    This course covers an overview of the healthcare system, jobs within healthcare, terminology, job-seeking skills, and technology used in healthcare.

    Allied Health Assisting 3

    This course covers the information contained in the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant exam (which you will be able to take at the end of the course).  

    Health Science Education Directed Study

    This course allows the students to go to Baptist Hospital during the spring semester to complete clinical hours within the wellness center, cardiac rehabilitation, physical therapy inpatient, physical therapy outpatient, and exercise center.
