Welcome to BBMS library! Our mission is to amplify the classroom experience and to be the heart and hub of Brown-Barge. We want our library to be a place where students, teachers, administration, and staff can explore, learn, create and collaborate. Our goals are to foster a love of reading and learning by providing access to updated print and digital resources, to collaborate with classroom teachers to design learning experiences that enhance curriculum and support student achievement, and to empower students’ voices through responsible digital citizenship.
-
It is a school-wide expectation that every student has a self-selected book available in their backpacks at all times.
-
Our school participates in daily Silent Sustained Reading (SSR). During SSR students should be reading a self-selected book for pleasure. This time should be used exclusively for reading; it is not a study hall.
-
Each Teacher of Record (TOR) is assigned a day to visit the library during their SSR period. Bring a book to return, read or renew. If you need help selecting a book -- just ask!
