The WIOA Youth Program at George Stone Technical College helps young people ages 16–24 gain the skills, support, and education they need to succeed in the workforce or return to school.
Whether you're in school or out of school, we help you explore career options, complete your education, and get real-world job experience.
About the Program

WIOA stands for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. The WIOA Youth Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Labor and provides:

Education and training support

Work-based learning opportunities

Leadership development
-
Career guidance and job placement

Help overcoming barriers like transportation, housing, or childcare
We work with both in-school youth (currently enrolled) and out-of-school youth (not currently in school) to help them reach their goals.

Who is Eligible?
-
✅ Must be between 16 and 24 years old
✅ Must meet eligibility requirements based on income and barriers to employment
✅ In-school youth must be enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary program
✅ Out-of-school youth must not be attending school and face one or more challenges (e.g., dropped out, homeless, in foster care, disabled, parenting, or involved with the justice system)

Support for Out-of-School Youth

If you're not currently enrolled in school and between the ages of 16–24, you're considered "out-of-school youth" and may qualify for:

Help with resumes, interviews, and job searches

Access to supportive services like transportation and childcare

Support for In-School Youth
