  • Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! I am so very honored and excited to begin this new year with you as guidance counselor.

I am Danielle Fryman, and I began my journey in the Escambia County School District in 1998 after completing a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education at the University of South Alabama. That journey led me through many experiences which include working with pre-K, elementary and middle school students, and a short time working with the Florida Center for Reading Research. My middle school years have been spent right here at Brown-Barge immersing myself in the integrated curriculum that is so very successful here. My certification includes Early Childhood, Elementary, Gifted K-12, ESE K-12, Social Science 5-9, and Math 5-9. I also hold certification in Youth Mental Health First Aid, Trust Based Relational Interventions (TBRI) in the Classroom, and Cognitive Behavioral Interventions for Trauma in Schools (CBITS). I recently finished a graduate program with the University of West Alabama, earning a Master's in School Counseling. I have been married to my husband, Troy, for 25 years and we are raising our four children who range from college age to elementary. We enjoy anything outside from camping and mountain biking, boating and swimming to baseball, soccer and dirtbike racing.

My counseling philosophy is that counseling is the opportunity and intention, as a professional, to cultivate a relationship with individuals, groups, and families with the goal of enabling them to experience the fullness of mental health, wellness, and education through both preventive and restorative practices as appropriate to their healthy, normal development, as well as empowering and connecting them with resources that further support their needs.

Please know that I am available to you and your family to enable your success as a student at Brown-Barge. With our amazing guidance team that includes a mental health counselor, social worker, student resources coordinator and guidance secretary, we are thrilled to walk with you through your middle school journey.

    Blessings for a great year,

    Danielle Fryman
